    How Does a Business License Work for Reiki?

    I'm in the startup process and planning on offering distance Reiki from home but would also like the possibility of doing in-person sessions by renting or working out of a shared space (hotel spa, beauty salon, vet's office, yoga studio, etc) and also going to client's homes. I live in the county of Los Angeles, so it seems like depending on where you conduct business, you need a business license from the city you're doing business in. Are multiple business licenses needed if your home operation is City A, but you rent a space in city B, and see clients in cities C, D, E?

    Can I Charge for Reiki?

    I have been practicing Reiki for two months now, over 12 hands-on sessions completed, and have been asked by several, “what do you charge.” I am in California and do NOT have a business. In terms of charging a fee, is a “liability form” wise, especially as I branch out to others? Can I not charge unless I have an official business (LLC or S-Corp??)

    How Do I Name My Reiki Business?

    I’m trying to think of a name for my Reiki business but I’m drawing a blank. Every time I think I have it - it’s already in use! Did you have the same problem? How did you go about choosing your name? I’ve been meditating hoping it will pop up, but no luck yet.
