What do you think about "setting intentions" at the beginning of a Reiki session for a client? The intention being set by Reiki practitioners is not "standardized," and practitioners can be very elaborate by calling in symbols, guides, power animals, angels. Others just ask for Reiki to flow to the person's highest good. Does that have an impact on the session?

I want to offer Reiki in nursing homes for a low price but what should I wear? And what should I charge? $40 seems reasonable since where I live it costs $4,000/month to put someone in a nursing home. I don’t want to price my services out of their range, but I don’t want to undercut other Reiki practitioners. Someone else told me I should offer the sessions for free, since it's an underserved population. What do you think?

I just quit my job to start my Reiki business, but am getting a little concerned because I learned that what I want to offer, Usui Reiki, no one wants. I keep seeing so many other practitioners offering cord cutting, calling in deities, angels, and healing people, but this is not Reiki. Do I need to be offering these things too? Is Reiki not enough?

Is it a requirement for a teacher to provide a manual they have written themselves for each level? I had the same teacher for all 3 levels and she didn't give us a manual. I had intense courses in terms of the content and practice, but feel like I’m missing something as a Reiki teacher since I don’t have manuals. I have considered writing my own to use when I start teaching, but do I need to have them?

I paid and attending trainings up to my master level. My teacher was  moving out of state and did my last attunement right before she left. I never received a “certificate.” I have asked about it several times because I feel that if I see clients it will be expected (I am not a massage therapist). She says she will get it to me, but I never hear back from her. At this point, I don’t think this will happen and I'm feeling disappointed and concerned. Is a certificate something I need or will clients not care?

Do you have any tips to get more people to attend a Reiki share? When I stop offering them in my studio, so many people ask me to host them or are interested in attending, but when I offer them and it's time to sign up, very few do. When I offer these it's just because I’d like to see the community come together.
